What we do... We promote sustainable living locally by putting on fun and educational community events and activities. We bring people together in the community, and enable practical steps towards more sustainable living. We have interesting groups, always welcome new members to join in, or support them in taking their ideas forward.
We have monthly HASL General Meetings where we welcome new members, and all of the subgroups get together and report on developments. These meetings are open to all (See the Upcoming Events page for our next meeting)
The story of how we began... A small group of friends put on a film showing of the Age of Stupid at the Hanover Community Center in the cold cold winter of 2009. After the showing there was such a morose and urgent feeling that we needed to ‘do something’ about the issues that the world was facing over climate change. With this momentum pushing us forward we decided to meet up again and start doing something together as a community. HASL was formed. Since then we have celebrated our 1 year birthday after a blooming year of events and activity. Our supporters continue to grow!
